Located in an industrial zone outside of the centre city, and in a flood plain, the L form of the building was generated by site conditions and the necessity for a strong identity in non-descript surroundings. A shifted L creates a void in plan; a massive stone wall and a hovering volume carve out the entry. This play of contrasts has a purpose: the austere northern façade repels highway noise and winter wind, while permeable facades control the sun, modulating office spaces with crisp Mediterranean light. The uncut stone blocks, measuring 50 x 90 X 200 centimeters, come from a stone quarry in the region.
